INTERNATIONAL

The Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition (YSTE) has joined forces with Ireland’s Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to further strengthen STEM education and create new international opportunities for young people. Through the DFA’s A Better World Strategy, this partnership—formalised by a Memorandum of Understanding between YSTE and the DFA—puts a strong focus on widening inclusion and access so that students from all backgrounds can engage with science, technology, and innovation.

This collaboration is already delivering real impact. It has helped launch highly successful Young Scientist programmes in Kenya (2018) and Jordan (2022), providing thousands of students with the chance to explore STEM in a hands‑on, inspiring way. Under this model, YSTE shares its expertise, structure, and mentoring approach, while DFA embassies connect local organisers with networks, institutions, and resources that help the programmes thrive in their own national contexts.

Looking ahead, YSTE and the DFA are committed to expanding the Young Scientist footprint even further. Together, we aim to empower more young people around the world, strengthen global STEM communities, and showcase Ireland’s leadership in science and technology in a meaningful and lasting way.
